On April 25-26, 2019 Dr. McKenna attended a continuing education seminar titled "Treating the Worn Dentition" at the Spear Dental Education Center in Scottsdale, AZ.

On March 26th, 2019 Dr. McKenna delivered a presentation to dental students at Marquette University. The presentation was titled "Dental Management."

Dr. McKenna attended a mini residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota the weekend of October 12th. This continuing education course further enhanced Dr. McKenna’s knowledge, confidence and skills to treat young children using present day materials and techniques.

On Wednesday, Nov 1 Dr. McKenna delivered a speech titled "The State of the Dental Profession" at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Nearly the entire student body was present during the presentation. The presentation was part of American Dental Association Success Program. The talk included discussing trends in the dental workforce, dental service utilization, and challenges facing dental students.

In September, Dr. McKenna and Dr. Olsen attended a dental conference in Las Vegas where they learned how to become more efficient with CEREC crowns and implant dentistry. During the conference, they decided to add a cone beam 3D imaging machine to our office. This state of the art machine will allow them to better diagnose their patients by showing the precise positioning of the teeth and jaw bones. In addition, it will allow them to more precisely plan out implant placement, root canals and restorative treatment. They both are very excited to start using this new technology to better serve our patients!

On Thursday, March 30, 2017 Dr. McKenna gave a presentation for the Wisconsin Dental Asssociation at the Delafield Brewhaus. The presentation was geared toward dental students and recent dental school graduates. Topics covered included practice management systmes such as record keeping, patient interactions, debt management, and financial budgeting.

Nearly the entire West Prairie Dental Team recently attended The Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting. We had fun traveling and getting dinner together. Most importantly, the office earned over 100 total Continuing Education hours! Topics we learned about included oral pathology, prescription medication complications, sleep apnea treatments, periodontal disease updates, forensic dentistry, and nutrition to name a few.
